Description

This poetry slam is dedicated to the theme "Smash the Patriarchy" and invites you to question patriarchal structures and their impact on women. Eight female poets perform their texts to capture feelings, criticism, and visions in vivid language. They explore why feminism is often used as an insult, what value it holds, and what a gender-equitable society could look like. Men are explicitly welcome as listeners to collectively reflect on solutions. The proceeds from the evening will go to the Women's Aid Salzburg.

The event is hosted by Katja Ilnizki, with musical accompaniment by DJ Radikabel. Featured performers include Inke Sommerlang (semi-finalist of the German-language championships), Anna Hader (former Austrian U20 champion and rapper), Marsha Richarz (co-founder of Brimborium Verlag), and Tamara Stocker (Austrian champion 2021 and Tyrolean state champion 2024). If you would like to perform as a poet yourself, you can apply through the Open Call and inspire the audience with your own texts on the theme.
