Description

As part of the series "JBZ Projects of Change," experts will discuss the health and societal consequences of increasing heatwaves. Johanna Schauer-Berg, a specialist in general, family, and preventive medicine at PMU Salzburg, Rupert Schmidhofer from the Salzburg provincial government, responsible for the heat protection plan, and Stefan Soucek, acting head of the Red Cross Salzburg emergency services, will analyze the risks for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and chronically ill individuals. The Salzburg heat protection plan, which includes measures like warning systems or cooling zones, as well as strategies for adapting the healthcare system and society to the climate crisis, will be presented.

The event is held in cooperation with SALZBURG 2050 and the University of Salzburg. Admission is free; the discussion will also be streamed.
