Description

The Salzburg Orchestra Academy invites you to a concert featuring works from the "Sturm und Drang" period, conducted by Johannes Beranek with the Young Mozart Orchestra, the Mozart Children's Orchestra, and young soloists. The program centers on Joseph Martin Kraus' overture from "Olympie" and Mozart's Sinfonia concertante in E-flat major for four wind instruments—a work with disputed authorship that sparks debate. The concert concludes with the incidental music from Mozart's "Thamos, King of Egypt." The music promises an emotional rollercoaster: twice dramatic theatrical music, twice stormy turmoil. An evening that brings the contrasting power of this era to life through sound.
