Description

The Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, under the direction of Roberto González-Monjas, presents a diverse program featuring works by Joseph Martin Kraus, Josef Mysliveček, Kevin Puts, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The evening opens with Kraus’s Symphony in C minor, "Funèbre," followed by Mysliveček’s aria "Che non mi disse" from the opera "L’Olimpiade." A highlight is Kevin Puts’s Marimba Concerto, performed by soloist Christoph Sietzen, whose virtuosic playing and the instrument’s rich sonic palette take center stage.

Mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená interprets Mozart’s famous arias of Susanna from "Le nozze di Figaro" as well as the rondo "Al desio di chi t’adora." The evening concludes with Mozart’s lively "Linz Symphony." The concert is hosted by Rolando Villazón, who guides the audience through the musical highlights and adds a special touch to the performance.
