Description

"Alex, the Pirate Rat" is an adventurous children's play with music by Peter Blaikner and Cosi M. Goehlert, recommended for ages 5 and up. The story follows the one-eyed pirate twins Edgar and Allan, who must hand over their loot to the powerful Pirate Queen, the Flying Dutchwoman, every year. But this time, they have no loot—and risk being punished to row for a year. Even Professor Lodengrün, the ship’s gorilla and a famous writer, would be affected. Together with the clever pirate rat Alex and the radio seagull Gabriele, they devise a plan: a forbidden song will reveal the Flying Dutchwoman’s secret. Will they succeed in defeating the Pirate Queen?

To mark the 30th anniversary of the play, the special connection to SalzburgMilch’s "Alex Schoko-Milch" is revived—originally inspired by the play, it now accompanies its return to the stage. The production, directed by Florian Eisner, captivates with imaginative stage designs, vibrant costumes, and catchy music by Cosi M. Goehlert, blending original compositions with echoes of Wagner’s "The Flying Dutchman." With Daniel Windrich as Alex, Bina Blumencron as the Flying Dutchwoman, and Noah Löffelberger as Professor Lodengrün, the ensemble promises an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
