Description

"Alex, the Pirate Rat" is an adventurous children's play with music, recommended for ages five and up. The one-eyed pirate twins Edgar and Allan must annually surrender part of their loot to the Flying Dutchwoman—or face severe punishment. Together with the pirate rat Alex, the writing gorilla Professor Lodengrün, and the radio seagull Gabriele, they devise a plan to avert disaster. A forbidden song ultimately reveals the secret of the Pirate Queen.

With humorous dialogue, imaginative characters, and catchy music by Cosi M. Goehlert—featuring echoes of Wagner’s "The Flying Dutchman"—the play becomes an entertaining experience. The connection to "Alex Chocolate Milk," which originated from the piece, completes the maritime adventure.
