The Great Secret – 80 Years of the Salzburg Advent Singing

On the occasion of its 80th anniversary, the Salzburg Advent Singing presents the scenic oratorio "The Great Mystery," which explores birth as a central human motif.

Musically, the work spans from folk sounds to classical compositions and works by influential composers over eight decades. Highlights this year also include the enchanting performance by the shepherd children and the beloved devotional yodel.

Since its founding in 1946 by Tobi Reiser Sr., the Salzburg Advent Singing has been one of the oldest and most renowned cultural events in the German-speaking world. This anniversary production continues the artistic development of the past decades and invites audiences to rediscover the Advent tradition.
