Atmospheric chamber music during the pre-Christmas season: Mozart's variations and Christmas sounds from Salzburg. A musical delight in the opulent rooms of the Residenz.
Description
During the contemplative pre-Christmas season, visitors are treated to a musical experience in the opulent rooms of the Salzburg Residence. The focus is on Mozart’s variation work "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" (KV 265) in Peter Peinstingl’s arrangement – a melody now known as "Morgen kommt der Weihnachtsmann." Mozart unfolds his unmistakable musical ingenuity here. The program is complemented by his Clarinet Quintet in A Major (KV 581), featuring the movements Allegro, Larghetto, and Minuet.
The Residence Ensemble, featuring Theo Burkali (clarinet), Chanelle Bednarczyk and Balazs Moldiz (violin), Romana Rauscher (viola), and Matthias Beckmann (cello), performs the works. The concert concludes with traditional Christmas melodies from the Salzburg region, rounding off the evening in a festive atmosphere.
