Christmas sounds and Mozart's masterpieces in the opulent rooms of the Salzburg Residence. A festive experience with variations and Salzburg traditions.
Description
During the pre-Christmas season, a special concert in the opulent halls of the Salzburg Residence invites you on a journey through Mozart's musical genius and Christmas traditions. At the heart of the program is Mozart's set of variations "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" (KV 265), based on a French folk song and now familiar as the melody of "Morgen kommt der Weihnachtsmann" (Here Comes Santa Claus). Mozart transforms the simple tune into an artful play of variations, showcasing his unmistakable creativity.
The program also includes the Clarinet Quintet in A major (KV 581) with its four movements – from the lively Allegro through the lyrical Larghetto to the dance-like Menuetto and the spirited Allegretto. The evening concludes with traditional Christmas sounds from the Salzburg region, creating a festive atmosphere.
The evening is performed by the Residenz Ensemble featuring Theo Burkali (clarinet), Carsten Neumann and Balazs Moldiz (violin), Jutas Javorka (viola), and Matthias Beckmann (cello). A musical experience that combines Mozart's masterpieces with the magic of the Christmas season.
