Mozart’s cheerful dramma giocoso about love’s chaos and mix-ups comes to life at the Salzburg Marionette Theatre. A magical experience with historical stage sets and live-spoken dialogue – perfect for young and old alike!
The Salzburg Marionette Theatre presents Mozart’s "La finta giardiniera" (KV 196) in a shortened version with new dialogues. The production combines the art of puppetry with a high-quality musical performance by the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra under René Jacobs. At the heart of the story is the gardener Sandrina, who is actually the noble Violante in disguise, weaving a web of love entanglements and misunderstandings.
A special highlight is the live-spoken dialogue, recited by students from the Thomas Bernhard Institute at the Mozarteum University. The historic production is distinguished by the legendary stage design by Günther Schneider-Siemssen and the costumes by Marie-Luise Walek. Under the direction of Philippe Brunner, a magical theatre experience unfolds, presented in German and Italian with German and English surtitles.
