Music Salon: Louis Sclavis and Benjamin Moussay in Dialogue

Louis Sclavis and Benjamin Moussay present their ECM duo "Unfolding" – a concert that blends jazz and chamber music in an intense musical dialogue. The two musicians, closely connected for years, allow clarinet and piano to merge in a interplay of composed passages and spontaneous improvisation. The program combines compositions by Moussay and Sclavis, oscillating between lyrical, almost floating sounds and unexpected turns. The music thrives on precise listening and the ability to give each other space to explore new directions together.

Recorded in 2024 at La Buissonne Studios and produced by Manfred Eicher, the album demonstrates how two distinct voices in a duo come together as an organic unity. The encounter of the instruments – sometimes delicate, sometimes powerful – creates a sound space that consciously incorporates time and silence. An evening for anyone who wishes to experience the subtle nuances between composition and freedom.
