An evening of music in the historic Marble Hall: Ensemble 1756 and solo piano present Mozart’s masterpieces and Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue" – a bridge between classical and modern music.
In the Baroque marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, the ensemble 1756 combines works from two musical eras on this evening. The program spans from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Salzburg Symphony in D major K. 136, which shines with youthful lightness, through the dramatic Piano Quartet in G minor K. 478, to the well-known Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." George Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue" then transports the audience into a world of jazzy rhythms and orchestral color, blending classical tradition with modern energy.
The ensemble 1756, whose members predominantly trained at the Mozarteum Salzburg, captivates with stylistic precision and vibrant musicianship. At the piano, Minka Popovic shapes the musical dialogue between classical and modern styles with versatile expressiveness. A concert that unites historical atmosphere with sonic diversity.
