Experience a captivating orchestral concert featuring works by Bruch and Sibelius, performed by the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra under Aivis Greters with violinist Veronika Eberle.
Description
The Göteborg Opera Orchestra, one of Sweden’s leading orchestras, makes its debut in Salzburg. Under the direction of Latvian conductor Aivis Greters and featuring internationally renowned violinist Veronika Eberle, the ensemble presents a program of works by Max Bruch and Jean Sibelius.
The centerpiece is Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, a highlight of Romantic violin literature. The "Swedish Dances"—originally composed for violin and later orchestrated—are folkloric gems reminiscent of Brahms’ "Hungarian Dances." The concert concludes with Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1 in E minor, a youthful and fresh work brimming with rhapsodic energy that already reveals the distinctive musical language of the Finnish composer.
