Description

In the Baroque marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, Ensemble 1756 presents a concert that blends classical and modern music. Founded in Salzburg and shaped by graduates of the Mozarteum, the ensemble combines stylistic precision with the vitality of chamber music.

The program ranges from Mozart’s "Salzburg Symphony" in D major K. 136 – a work of youthful clarity – to the dramatically condensed Piano Quartet in G minor K. 478, and on to the world-famous Serenade in G major K. 525, "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." After the intermission, George Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue" unfolds, merging classical tradition with the freedom of jazz. Minka Popovic brings this musical dialogue to life at the piano with stylistic versatility. Program subject to change.
