In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, the ensemble 1756 dedicates itself to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – a composer whose works continue to captivate with their clarity, elegance, and emotional depth. The ensemble, founded in Salzburg and consisting of graduates of the Mozarteum, combines stylistic awareness with interpretive curiosity in flexible chamber music settings.
The program spans from Mozart’s youthful freshness in the Salzburg Divertimento in D major K. 136 to the expressive sound world of the Violin Concerto in A major K. 219, where the solo violin engages in a lyrical, almost operatic dialogue with the strings. The famous Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" showcases Mozart’s mastery in dance-like lightness and structural precision, while the overture to "Le Nozze di Figaro" unfolds dramatic tension.
A passionate contrast is provided by Pablo de Sarasate’s "Zigeunerweisen" op. 20, inspired by Hungarian-Romani musical tradition. Here, fiery rhythm, vocality, and brilliant violin technique come together to create an intense sonic image. Soloist Kamilė Kubiliūtė shapes the concert with technical sovereignty and profound expressiveness – a journey through Mozart’s apparent simplicity and Sarasate’s virtuosic emotionality.
