Palace Concert Featuring Works by Mozart and Sarasate

In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, the ensemble 1756 transports the audience into the world of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Pablo de Sarasate. Founded in Salzburg, the ensemble’s members perform in leading European orchestras, blending stylistic precision with interpretive curiosity. The program spans from Mozart’s youthful freshness in the Divertimento in D major K. 136 to the mature mastery of the "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" K. 525 – a work distinguished by its dance-like lightness and clear structure.

A highlight of the evening is Mozart’s Violin Concerto in A major K. 219, in which the solo violin, played by Kamilė Kubiliūtė, engages in dialogue with the strings as a lyrical voice. Kubiliūtė, known for her technical brilliance and emotional depth, lends the concerto a special intensity. The grand finale features Sarasate’s "Zigeunerweisen" op. 20, a fiery work full of Hungarian-Romanian rhythm and dazzling violin technique, contrasting Mozart’s classical elegance with passionate virtuosity. A musical journey between clarity and fire, between Salzburg tradition and European sonic diversity.
