Description

In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, a concert dedicated to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart resounds. The ensemble 1756, whose members were trained at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and now perform in leading European orchestras, interprets key works by the composer—from the youthful freshness of the Salzburg Divertimento in D major K. 136 to the mature elegance of the "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" K. 525.

A highlight is Mozart’s Violin Concerto in A major K. 219, in which solo violinist Kamilé Kubiliūtė shines with technical precision and lyrical expression. The concert showcases Mozart’s ability to combine virtuosity with emotional depth. Rounding out the program is Pablo de Sarasate’s "Zigeunerweisen" op. 20, a fiery piece that delights with Hungarian-Romani rhythms and brilliant violin technique. The ensemble 1756, specializing in historical performance practice, lends the evening a special authenticity—especially fitting in Mozart’s hometown of Salzburg.
