Description

In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's most beautiful concert halls, the Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a concert featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Camille Saint-Saëns. The program includes Mozart's March in D major K. 290, the Divertimento in D major K. 205, the Romance for Cello and Strings in D major after K. 447, and the Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." The concert is complemented by Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in F major K. 138 and Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto in A minor op. 33/1.

Founded in 1999, the ensemble is dedicated to the music of Mozart and his contemporaries. Its members draw on many years of tradition in collaborative music-making, including performances with the Mozarteum Orchestra or at the Salzburg Festival. Matthias Beckmann takes the solo cello part. The Marble Hall, once a venue for performances by the Mozart family, provides a unique atmosphere for this concert.
