Description

In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, the Ensemble 1756, together with solo clarinetist Marius Birtea, presents a concert exclusively dedicated to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Founded in Salzburg and consisting of graduates of the Mozarteum University, the ensemble combines chamber music refinement with a vibrant ensemble culture.

The program spans from Mozart’s early Divertimento in D major K. 136 (Salzburg Symphony No. 1) through the Clarinet Quintet in A major K. 581 to the overture of the opera "Le Nozze di Figaro" K. 492. The highlight is the Clarinet Concerto in A major K. 622, a work of timeless elegance and poetic depth, one of the most significant compositions for the clarinet. The selected pieces showcase Mozart’s development from youthful lightness to mature mastery—a evening that makes the diversity of his oeuvre audible.
