In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of the world's most significant Baroque concert halls, the ensemble 1756 presents a string program featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Pablo de Sarasate. The Salzburg ensemble, composed of musicians from leading European orchestras, dedicates itself to Mozart's multifaceted oeuvre: from the youthful Divertimento in D major K. 136 to the mature Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik," which shines with clear structures and dance-like melodies.
A highlight is the Violin Concerto in A major K. 219, in which solo violinist Kamilė Kubiliūtė crafts the dialogue between the solo instrument and strings with technical precision and lyrical expressiveness. Mozart's music combines apparent simplicity with compositional depth, while Sarasate's "Zigeunerweisen" op. 20 sets a passionate contrast with fiery rhythm and virtuosic passages. The concert blends classical elegance with emotional intensity, showcasing the violin as a versatile sound carrier.
