Description

The Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Adam Fischer, and pianist Igor Levit present an evening featuring works by Mozart and Haydn. The program centers on Joseph Haydn’s Symphony in C major Hob. I:97, Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C major K. 415, and his Symphony in D major K. 385 "Haffner." A special highlight of the program is the Cassation in G major LMV VIII:7, likely an arrangement by Leopold Mozart based on Edmund Angerer’s "Child’s Symphony." The piece stands out for its use of unusual instruments such as music boxes, ratchets, and bird whistles, giving it a unique character.

Before the concert, an introductory lecture in the patron’s lounge invites guests to explore the historical and musical backgrounds of the compositions. The collaboration between the orchestra, Fischer, and Levit promises a richly textured experience that combines classical masterpieces with surprising musical facets.
