Description

The Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by the internationally celebrated conductor Philippe Jordan – recipient of the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art – presents a pure Mozart program. At its heart is the Piano Concerto in C minor, K. 491, one of the composer’s last and most profound works, distinguished by its dramatic expressiveness and structural complexity. Icelandic piano virtuoso Víkingur Ólafsson makes his debut at the Mozartwochen with this masterpiece.

The concert is complemented by Mozart’s Symphony in G minor, K. 183, an early work full of passion, and the Serenade in D major, K. 320 "Posthorn," renowned for its characteristic use of the post horn in the middle movements. Two outstanding artists come together for a musical evening that brings Mozart’s genius to life in all its facets.
