Experience Beethoven's Violin Concerto and the 4th Symphony in historically informed performance with Benjamin Schmid and the Wiener Akademie conducted by Martin Haselböck.
Description
This orchestral concert is entirely dedicated to the works of Ludwig van Beethoven. The program features the Violin Concerto in D major – now a cornerstone of the violin repertoire – as well as the rarely performed Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major. Once largely overlooked, the Violin Concerto achieved worldwide fame through Joseph Joachim. Benjamin Schmid, an outstanding violinist, interprets the work with fresh nuances while continuing Joachim’s tradition.
He is accompanied by the Wiener Akademie orchestra under the direction of Martin Haselböck. The ensemble impresses with a historically informed approach to Beethoven’s music, which has gained international recognition – including through successful CD recordings. Symphony No. 4 captivates with its cheerful, almost chamber-like lightness, yet remains full of passion and fine balance.
