Description

The Salzburg Wind Philharmonic, under the direction of Chief Conductor Hansjörg Angerer, invites you on a sonorous journey through nature. The program of the Epiphany Concert 2027 combines works that capture landscapes, weather phenomena, and times of day in music – from Beethoven’s "Pastoral" to Haydn’s "Horn Signal", and from Grieg’s "Morning Mood" to Smetana’s "Vltava". Special attention is given to Swiridov’s pieces ("The Snowstorm") and Sibelius’s ("Karelia Suite"), which evoke wintry and Nordic moods.

Internationally acclaimed violinist Benjamin Schmid shines as the soloist with virtuosic works by Wieniawski and Saint-Saëns. The concert is rounded off with lively Viennese light music, including Josef Strauss’s polka "Winterlust". A versatile program that unites the forces of nature with musical masterpieces.
