Max – The Snorkeling Monster

"Max – The Snorkel Monster" is a family-friendly play for ages 5 and up by Beat Fäh. The story follows Max, an unusual snorkel monster with attached fins, who emerges from the water and must assert himself in the school of life. There, Max is teased by classmates and feels misunderstood by adults, academic demands, and societal expectations.

Yet Max encounters a quirky janitor who moves through the school with her suitcase radio and old hits. She, too, tries to "do everything right"—even climbing curtains to remove cobwebs. From their encounter grows an unusual friendship that speaks of acceptance and the desire for freedom.

Central themes include recognition, self-determination, and coping with performance pressure. The play blends acting, acrobatics, dance, and music from an old suitcase radio into a imaginative and moving production. The cast features Pamina Milewska and Raphael Steiner, directed by Reinhold Tritscher.
