Max – The Snorkel Monster

"Max – The Snorkel Monster" is a family-friendly play for ages 5 and up by Beat Fäh. At its heart is Max, an unusual creature with permanently attached flippers who emerges from the water and must assert himself in the school of life. There, Max is mocked by the other children and feels misunderstood by adults and societal expectations. However, he meets the eccentric school janitor, who tries to "do everything right" with her suitcase radio and old hits. The two outsiders develop a special friendship based on acceptance and a desire for freedom.

The play combines acting, acrobatics, and dance with music from an old suitcase radio, which acts as its own character guiding the story. It explores the conflict between self-determination and the pressure to conform to societal norms. With plenty of imagination and emotion, the production tells a touching story about friendship and individuality. The cast includes Pamina Milewska and Raphael Steiner, directed by Reinhold Tritscher.
