Max – The Snorkeling Monster

"Max – The Snorkel Monster" is a imaginative family theater production for ages 5 and up by Beat Fäh. Max, an unusual snorkel monster with permanently attached fins, sets out on his journey to the school of life. There, he is mocked by his classmates and feels misunderstood by adults, societal expectations, and performance pressure. However, he meets an eccentric janitor who, with her portable radio and old hits, is also trying to "do everything right." With her love for music and unconventional methods—such as climbing curtains—she becomes an important figure of support for Max.

The two characters, who feel on the fringes, develop a touching friendship, accompanied by acrobatics, dance, and the sounds of old street tunes from the portable radio. The play explores the desire for recognition, freedom, and self-determination in a world full of rules and a lack of genuine encounters. The roles are played by Pamina Milewska and Raphael Steiner, directed by Reinhold Tritscher, with costumes by Viktoria Semperboni.
