Description

The Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, conducted by Roberto González-Monjas, presents a concert featuring three significant works from the Romantic and late Romantic periods. The alto Wiebke Lehmkuhl performs Gustav Mahler’s "Rückert-Lieder," a cyclical setting of Friedrich Rückert’s poems that oscillates between lyrical intimacy and dramatic expressiveness.

Othmar Schoeck’s "Sommernacht" for string orchestra transports the listener with its pastoral soundscapes into the idyllic world of Gottfried Keller’s poem. The work captivates with its impressionistic lightness and poetic atmosphere.

The concert concludes with Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s 5th Symphony, the "Reformation Symphony." Inspired by the historical significance of the Reformation, it combines solemn choral quotations with symphonic drama and stands as a homage to Martin Luther.
