Seasonal Concert #3 – Unheard: Yulianna Avdeeva, Afanasy Chupin

At the third seasonal concert of CAMERATA Salzburg, works by female composers whose contributions to music history have long been overlooked will be performed. Fanny Hensel’s Overture in C major, premiered in 1834, already captivated audiences at the time with its rousing impact. Emilie Mayer, with an impressive body of work including eight symphonies and 15 concert overtures, will be represented by her lyrical Symphony No. 2 in E minor. Both works will be conducted by the CAMERATA under the musical direction of its concertmaster, Afanasy Chupin.

The program also features Frédéric Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, a highlight of Romantic piano literature. The Chopin Prize winner Yulianna Avdeeva will perform the solo part. The selection of pieces spans from forgotten masterpieces to one of the most renowned piano concertos of the Romantic era, showcasing the emotional depth and poetic power of this music.

Discounted tickets are available for young people up to the age of 30, as well as for people with disabilities and their companions. A pre-concert introduction will take place 30 minutes before the start.
