Description

In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg’s most beautiful concert halls, the ensemble 1756 brings together two musical worlds on this evening: the classical elegance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the urban modernity of George Gershwin. The ensemble, whose members were trained at the Mozarteum Salzburg, captivates with stylistic precision and a vibrant, chamber-music culture—ideal for Mozart’s Quartet in G Minor, K. 478, which impresses with dramatic intensity and emotional depth.

The program spans from Mozart’s youthful "Salzburg Symphony" to Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue," which bursts the boundaries between art and popular music with jazz-inspired freedom and rhythmic energy. Both composers share an unmistakable inventiveness that will converge in this concert. At the piano, Minka Popovic as soloist shapes this dialogue with stylistic versatility and sonic brilliance.
