In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn are performed by the Mozart Consort Salzburg. The program includes Mozart's "Salzburg Symphony" in D major, K. 136, the Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major, K. 447, the Serenade in G major, K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik," and the String Quartet in B-flat major, K. 159. Founded in 1999, this ensemble passionately dedicates itself to the works of Mozart and his contemporaries. The ensemble size varies depending on the repertoire, ranging from duos to chamber orchestras. Matthias Beckmann is featured on the cello. The marble hall, once a stage for the Mozart family, provides a historic setting for this concert of classical masterpieces.
