Description

In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's most significant Baroque concert halls, the Altenau Ensemble invites you to an evening of works from the 18th and 19th centuries. The five chamber musicians from various European countries specialize in the music of these eras and perform it at the highest level.

The program includes Haydn's Divertimento in D major Hob. III:3, Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in F major K. 138, and his famous Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." Also featured are Bizet's "Carmen Suite" and Vivaldi's Concerto for Guitar and Strings in D major RV 93, performed by guitarist Cecilio Perera. The ensemble's name pays homage to Salome Alt, the life partner of Salzburg's Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, for whom the present-day Schloss Mirabell was originally built. An evening of music in a historic setting.
