In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, once a performance venue for the Mozart family for the Salzburg archbishops, Ensemble 1756 presents a concert in 2024 that focuses on the multifaceted genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Together with solo clarinetist Marius Birtea, well-known works such as the Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik," with its catchy melodies, and the Clarinet Concerto in A major K. 622, a masterpiece full of lyrical warmth and virtuosic elegance, will be performed. The program is complemented by Franz Krommer’s quartet for clarinet, violin, viola, and violoncello, as well as Mozart’s lively overture to "Le Nozze di Figaro."
Ensemble 1756, founded in Salzburg and consisting of graduates of the Mozarteum, combines chamber music refinement with a vibrant ensemble culture. The concert, with an intermission, spans from Mozart’s early compositions to his mature masterpieces, inviting the audience on a sonorous journey of discovery.
