Description

In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, Ensemble 1756, together with solo clarinetist Marius Birtea, presents a program featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Carl Maria von Weber. The concert spans from Mozart’s youthful Divertimento in D major K. 136, through Weber’s sonorous Clarinet Quintet op. 34, to the rousing overture to Le Nozze di Figaro. The highlight is Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major K. 622, a work of timeless beauty and emotional depth.

Ensemble 1756, composed of graduates from the Mozarteum Salzburg, captivates with its flexible instrumentation and interpretations that blend chamber-music precision with vivid expressiveness. The evening invites listeners to experience Mozart’s diverse soundscapes—from cheerful lightness to dramatic intensity—in one of the world’s most historically significant concert halls.
