Description

In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, Ensemble 1756 presents a concert featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Carl Maria von Weber. The program spans from Mozart’s early Salzburg Divertimento in D major K. 136 to his overture to "Le Nozze di Figaro" K. 492. Weber’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in B-flat major Op. 34 enriches the evening with romantic splendor. The highlight is Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major K. 622, a work of lyrical depth and virtuosic brilliance, one of the most significant compositions in the clarinet repertoire.

Ensemble 1756, composed of graduates from the Mozarteum Salzburg, combines chamber music precision with a vibrant ensemble culture. In changing formations from trio to chamber orchestra, the musicians interpret the works with historical performance practice and modern expressive power. The evening invites you on a journey of discovery through Mozart’s oeuvre – from youthful lightness to the maturity of his late masterpieces.
