Description

In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, the musicians of Ensemble 1756, together with solo clarinetist Marius Birtea, present a program featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Carl Maria von Weber. The ensemble, whose members trained at the Mozarteum Salzburg, combines chamber music refinement with vibrant ensemble culture and dedicates this evening to the multifaceted oeuvre of Mozart.

The program includes Mozart’s early Divertimento in D major K. 136, the rousing overture to Le Nozze di Figaro, and his famous Clarinet Concerto in A major K. 622—a work of lyrical depth and technical brilliance that ranks among the highlights of clarinet literature. The evening is further enriched by Weber’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in B-flat major, Op. 34, which underscores the sonic diversity of the concert. A musical evening that vividly reflects Mozart’s Salzburg roots and his artistic development.
