Description

In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's historically most significant concert halls, the Altenau Ensemble presents a concert featuring works from the 18th and 19th centuries. The program includes Joseph Haydn's Divertimento in D major Hob. III:3, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in F major K. 138 as well as his famous Serenade in G major K. 525 – better known as "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." The concert is complemented by Georges Bizet's Carmen Suite and Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for Guitar and Strings in D major RV 93, performed by the internationally renowned guitarist Cecilio Perera.

The Altenau Ensemble, consisting of five chamber musicians from various European countries, specializes in music from the 18th and late 19th centuries and performs with the utmost precision. The Marble Hall, once a performance venue for the Mozart family for the Salzburg archbishops, lends the evening a unique historical atmosphere.
