Experience a magical concert featuring works by Mozart, Haydn, and Borne in the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell. Ensemble Orphée delights with chamber musical elegance.
Description
In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, the ensemble Orphée presents a concert featuring works of the Viennese Classical period and romantic virtuosity. The program includes Mozart’s cheerful overture from The Abduction from the Seraglio, the lyrical String Quartet No. 4 in C major, as well as his elegant Concerto for Flute and Strings in D major, performed by flutist Irmgard Messin. After the intermission, Haydn’s humorous Symphony No. 94 Surprise and François Borne’s brilliant Fantaisie brillante on themes from Bizet’s Carmen – a fireworks display of technical mastery – will be heard.
The ensemble Orphée brings together excellent musicians from Salzburg’s top orchestras, such as the Camerata Academica and the Mozarteum Orchestra. With a passion for chamber music precision and stylistic diversity – from the early Classical period to the 20th century – they transform the evening into a special auditory experience.
