Description

In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's most beautiful concert halls, the Altenau Ensemble presents a concert featuring works by Haydn, Mozart, Bizet, and Vivaldi. The ensemble, named after Schloss Altenau – the predecessor to Schloss Mirabell – consists of five chamber musicians from various European nations and specializes in music from the 18th and 19th centuries. With internationally renowned soloists such as guitarist Cecilio Perera, the ensemble performs at the highest level.

The program includes Haydn's Divertimento in D major, Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in F major and the famous Serenade in G major "Eine kleine Nachtmusik," Vivaldi's Guitar Concerto in D major for guitar and strings, as well as excerpts from Bizet's "Carmen Suite." After a break, the audience can look forward to a varied musical experience in a historic setting – where once the Mozart family performed for the Salzburg archbishops.
