Description

In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, Ensemble 1756, together with solo violinist Kamilė Kubiliūtė, presents a concert that combines central works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with the virtuosic brilliance of Pablo de Sarasate. The ensemble, whose members were trained at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, unites stylistic clarity with interpretive curiosity and an intense musical dialogue.

The program spans from Mozart’s early Salzburg divertimenti to his mature string works. The Violin Concerto in A Major, K. 219, showcases the violin as a singing, almost operatic voice, engaging in a lively exchange with the ensemble. The "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" K. 525 captivates with its dance-like lightness and compositional mastery, while the overture to "Le Nozze di Figaro" unfolds dramatic tension. The concert concludes with Sarasate’s "Zigeunerweisen" Op. 20, a work full of passion and fiery rhythm that blends Hungarian-Romani influences with virtuosic violin technique. As soloist, Kamilė Kubiliūtė takes the audience on a journey through contrasts—from lyrical elegance to exhilarating virtuosity.
