Date with Mozart & Johann Strauss

To ring in the year, visitors can look forward to a concert that combines the lyrical elegance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with the exhilarating verve of Johann Strauss. The program features Mozart’s chamber music – including the cheerful Divertimento in F major, K. 138, and the melodic String Quartet in E-flat major, K. 160 – as well as beloved works by the “Waltz King,” such as the lively polka “Leichtes Blut” and the dramatic “Unter Donner und Blitz.” The Residenz Ensemble, an experienced string quartet, performs the pieces with precision and charm: Jiachen Zhang and Rudolf Hollinetz on violins, Romana Rauscher on viola, and Detlef Mielke on cello. An evening of music that blends festive cheer, Viennese tradition, and joyful sounds.
