Baroque music on period instruments: Vivaldi's 'The Four Seasons' and Mozart's Divertimenti in the historic Marble Hall. A festive evening with Ensemble 1756.
Description
In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg’s most historically significant concert venues where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, works by Antonio Vivaldi and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be heard. Ensemble 1756, founded in 2006 in Salzburg, will perform Mozart’s Salzburg Divertimento in D major, K. 136, Vivaldi’s famous "Four Seasons," and Mozart’s Salzburg Divertimento in F major, K. 138, on original instruments.
The orchestra is passionately dedicated to the historical performance practice of the 17th and 18th centuries and captivates with its authentic sound, modeled on historical examples. With Florian Moser on the Baroque violin, the ensemble offers an evening of musical elegance and Baroque splendor—a celebration for lovers of classical music in one of the most beautiful concert halls in the world.
